What You’ll Do
As a Creative Producer / Editor for Big Think Edge, you will partner with the Heads of Learning, Content Production, and Partner Services to develop and produce video courses for individual consumers, corporate partners and universities.
Bringing adult learning principles together with engaging storytelling, you will create video lessons from subject matter experts across our Top 21 Skills for Personal and Organizational Development in the 21st Century. You will take complete ownership of the video production process from pre- through post- for the video courses in your portfolio.
The Creative Producer / Editor will keep multiple projects going at the same time while still adhering to Big Think's outstanding quality standards.
Over the course of the first year, you will work closely with the Head of Learning and Content Development Team to conceive, develop, and test a new production pipeline for Big Think Edge courses.
Your role will include, but not be limited to, the following areas of responsibility:
- Content Development:
Develop and produce compelling video-based courses for B2B/B2C audiences that achieve Big Think's brand and business objectives
Generate new content pitches on a weekly basis and take ownership of projects that are greenlit
Be prepared to pitch at least 2 additional "stretch" pitches/quarter that challenge you to think beyond your comfort zone
Connect with the Partnerships department to be briefed on current client relationships and to explore opportunities for client-driven productions
- Conduct research, planning, and pre-production interviews to ensure that productions capture target lessons
Direct or oversee the production of videos, original photography, in-video graphics, and collateral materials, ensuring that they are in line with Big Think's brand and standards
Coordinate a network of freelance associates and other suppliers to support remote shoots and video-driven or recorded events, including contracting, scheduling and performance monitoring processes to achieve a high quality of output and value
Iterate the production process as needed, both operationally and creatively, building a library of lessons learned for future team members
- Edit video lessons, or oversee, guide, and manage the work of production and post-production staff
What You’ll Need
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, Master's degree preferred
7+ years of video production experience in a digital production environment, working within a full cycle of production, from pre- through post-
Excellent listening, interviewing, and people skills, and a passion for creative storytelling
Critical reasoning and problem-solving skills, including the ability to synthesize and translate challenging material into digestible video lessons for digital learners
Superb video editing and production skills; experience or demonstrated interest in education video production preferred
Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple projects in a complex cross-disciplinary environment with quick turnaround times; organized and efficient
A desire to evolve your position and become a critical thinking partner serving on an ambitious, mission-driven team
Technical skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Google Office Suite and Analytics, SEO; Adobe Creative Suite; 4K digital video production, able to convert media according to different video project specs
