About the Role
We are looking for a Social Media Community Manager to distribute our article and video content across a variety of social media channels, including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn; track performance; and optimize social posts against our Publishing team’s KPIs.
Our ideal candidate would have strong experience managing social accounts for a digital brand and excel at both amplifying and promoting our existing editorial content as well as surfacing insights from our audience to help shape future strategies and content.
What You’ll Do
Manage social media calendar that details daily posting strategies for our multiple Facebook pages, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube Community, LinkedIn, and Reddit
Create and monitor social media posts that promote our editorial content, meant to inspire engagement and break through the clutter of social feeds
Robust analytics tracking of daily posts against each platform’s KPIs
Launch Freethink into new social feeds, including Instagram and Facebook stories, Instagram reels, YouTube shorts, and wherever else you find value
A/B test headlines, thumbnail images, and sharing copy to continually optimize social posts
Track daily channel and post performance to identify audience and content trends as well as opportunities for continual improvement
Write compelling headlines and social copy for all videos, with the support of your teammates
Oversee video launches with a focus on YouTube success
Find and schedule third-party content
Coordinate regular content swaps with partners on Facebook and other platforms
Consistently surface insights from content performance to inform and shape our marketing and editorial strategies
Stay ahead of new trends and developments in social media and journalism to identify new opportunities
What You’ll Need
3+ years of digital marketing experience
Strong understanding of each social channel and their analytics
A love for reading science, technology, and innovation content - especially our editorial content (We think it’s pretty cool!)
A passion for understanding the Freethink audience (We think they’re pretty cool!)
Strong understanding of Facebook Creator Studio and social scheduling tools - experience with Echobox and Agorapulse is a plus
Proficiency in Adobe InDesign or Photoshop to create engaging, branded content for visual-driven platforms like Instagram
Strong communication skills to consistently share insights from the frontlines of our social communities
An adaptive and flexible spirit, as the digital marketing landscape is always changing
